The Indian Army will commence the recruitment for the posts of Agniveer in March 2025. A written examination is scheduled for these posts in April 2025. According to Colonel Shailesh Kumar, The Directorate of Army recruitment office, Varanasi a candidate is allowed to apply for two positions simultaneously a significant change from the previous years.

Candidates who have completed 12th Class with ITI Certification in the concerned trade are eligible to apply for Technical trades. Simultaneously, Indian Army encourages candidates to explore multiple positiosn in order to reduce the high competition for Agniveer General duty role.

Candidates from several districts, including Varanasi, Chandauli, Mau, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Bhadohi, Azamgarh, Ballia, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, and Deoria, will be eligible to participate in the recruitment process under the Varanasi Army Recruitment Office.

Colonel Kumar has mentioned that candidates often fail in general subjects during the medical examination. He advised applicants to ensure they meet all required criteria before appearing for the selection process.

For the first time, candidates will have the option to apply for two posts within the same recruitment cycle.
