Please note that candidates who have previously applied for the positions of Assistant Professor in English, Assamese, and Geology in response to the earlier advertisement published on 27-02-2021 (in the Assam Tribune) must apply afresh, but they are not required to pay the application fee again. Age: 38 years as of 1st January of the year in which the advertisement is issued, with a relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC, and 10 years for PwD candidates.
J.B. College Qualifications Required :
Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
Candidates with a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree Regulation, 2009) are exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
NET/SLET/SET is not required for certain Master’s programs in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and Master’s level for Scheduled caste/Scheduled tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) candidates for eligibility.
The period of time taken by candidates to acquire M.Phil and/or Ph.D. Degree shall not be considered as Teaching/research experience for appointment to the positions.
In-service candidates must apply through the proper channel with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) obtained from the concerned authority.
The selection procedure will be as per Government O.M. No.AHE.239/2021/68, dated 24-01-2022.
Reference date for acquiring qualifications: Candidates must have acquired qualifications as of the last date for submitting applications. Eligibility criteria like M.Phil./Ph.D./Seminar paper/Publications can be acquired and submitted on the date of the interview and not beyond.
